What's up Piggy Payback! fans? We're excited to tell you that the open alpha demo for the game is getting closer to release. Everyday we're adding more features, mechanics and levels, and fixing more bugs. We're trying to bring you the best possible example of the bigger experience that Piggy Payback! will bring you when the final game has released.
We're currently working on many things, one of which is a brand new UI/menu system for the entire game. It's still a work in progress, and will improve greatly when finished, but we already like how it's feeling, and we hope you do as well.
We've added two all new levels to this next demo, and we plan to add more. We've added both a horizontal level and a vertical one. Each level introduces a new mechanic to you, the player. Piggy Payback! is an experience of constantly learning and having to be flexible enough to adapt to the ever-changing challenge.
One of the new mechanics we've introduced is a rubberized rotating block. The trick is to time your shot and hit this rotating block while it's at the right angle in order to bounce your pig into hard to reach areas, such as Golden Egg cubby holes. This can and will be used in many different ways to bring you some interesting spacial puzzles. The block could be a triangle, a square or a hexagon. Each on harder to hit than the last!
Lastly, we've taken the bold step of changing the camera to an orthographic view. This makes everything look like you're looking at it head on, and eliminates the less-than-beautiful side angles you see the birds and level pieces at. We feel the game looks much more eye-pleasing with this new camera.
We would be thrilled to have you as a playtester for this upcoming alpha demo.
